In a growing development in the Ruby Region, Archon Welton Glowi has been reported missing from his multiple mansions throughout territories controlled by the Sun Empire. He was last seen in the capital city, Summerkeep, with other Coalition members during a Day of Scorched Feet celebration. Glowi’s disappearance has been publicly ruled as not politically motivated, but sources close to the investigation say the statement referred exclusively to foreign entities and that law enforcement officials are still looking closely into other Coalition members.
Details about Glowi’s disappearance are scarce, but investigators were seen moving in and out of Glowi’s Summerkeep mansion with what looked like poison blow darts. Reporters in the field have also been able to catch sights of investigators milling about a bedroom area that looked to be disturbed - blankets strewn about, lamps shattered, and the door laying on the floor in two.
Glowi was elected for a second term alongside the other four Archons in power five years ago. The close race against entrepreneur and social advocate, Azina Flameheart, was an upset among Summerkeep citizens. But voters throughout the Ruby Region consistently stated their vote was influenced primarily by Glowi’s “experience and wisdom” in domestic and foreign government systems. When interviewed by news outlets, Flameheart stated that “sometimes pressure plays a key part in these elections” and that “perhaps she miscalculated the limit of Glowi’s resourcefulness.” It is speculated that Flameheart referenced allegations of Glowi’s involvement in The Gilded Canvas murders, which implemented well known crime organization, Syndicate of Silver Linings.
During this investigation of high profile artisans who had partnerships with specific merchants, Glowi’s name was brought up multiple times during independent investigations. Shortly after news outlets began circulating Glowi’s possible involvement, law enforcement officials ruled that the deaths were suicides caused by a neurotoxin covertly implemented by Glowi’s rival merchants to frame him. Curiously, after this discovery was announced, the accused merchants were declared either missing or formally exiled by the Coalition.
When interviewing parties who may be impacted by Glowi’s disappearance, Flameheart had this to say:
“My deepest condolences to Archon Glowi and those affected by his absence. We may have vastly different perspectives on many issues around the empire, but he served as an inspiration to me. It is my hope that he is found sooner rather than later.”
Journalists and reporters stationed in the Ruby Region have continued to express that Glowi, among other empire officials, have contributed more to the poverty of the people rather than their well being, and that his disappearance may be the first among other corrupt empire officials.
Further details will be reported.
