Hour of the Ceaseless Cup, Inspection of Ronald’s Eatery

Greetings to you all.

There have been multiple reports and call-ins regarding Cupules Valley deli and market, Ronald’s Eatery. Located in the eastern part of Cupules Valley, Ronald’s Eatery is tucked away into a warehouse district and known for its quick service and delicious food. Its clientele is diverse, from truckers traveling across state lines to local commuters making a quick stop before work to university students looking for a bite to eat after morning classes. The market portion of Ronald’s Eatery consists of staples from different countries in Asia and a rotating stock of popular items that are difficult to find Stateside.

Official complaints filed by citizens and clients state that the owner, Ronald Briones, has been seen retrieving food from his dumpsters and recycling the discarded food. This may seem like something out of our regular scope, but our own investigations and call-ins from you, our Cup Bearers, have reported that Ronald Briones has been accessing a portal in the said dumpster. Because our investigators and Cup Bearers have been instructed to keep their distance from phenomena, the only similarities are found in an observed timeline as follows:

Briones is always seen hauling a bag of trash from the deli to the dumpster
After tossing the trash bag into the dumpster, Briones climbs into the dumpster himself
After two to five seconds, a bright green flash of light emits from the dumpster and lasts for anywhere from ten to fifteen seconds
Following the light, a trash bag is tossed out from the dumpster and lands with varying sounds described as splats, crunches, and fewer reports of animal-like sounds. Briones climbs out and hauls the trash bag back inside the deli. His activity is unknown for anywhere from five minutes to an hour, after which he exits the building and drives in the direction of his home.
Occurrences are typically Monday and Thursday and always anywhere from 3 AM to 4 AM. There are reports suggesting that anything outside of these parameters are associated with nationwide holidays

Upon further investigation of official records of Ronald’s Eatery and its location, our reporters have found that the location has consistently been a business involving food and food handling, first dating back to 140 years ago. Owners of said businesses are different and don’t seem to be associated with one specific family, but surnames typically have history in Spanish naming conventions, which leaves the possibility of ownership changing between different sides of a family. Also noted was that any complaints against the businesses were their occasional poor health scores, all attributed to poor food handling practices, primarily the use of expired, destroyed, or discarded foods or ingredients.

These in-depth reports may be a coincidence, but we have included this information because near the beginning of the industrial revolution, there have been ads and articles in local newspapers that include early pictures of the business, its setup, and the different owners, which all seem to be extremely similar, if not absolutely the same.

This phenomenon is deemed as a Level 1 hazard and is thus unlikely to cause immediate harm and can be approached with caution.

This ends our report to you, Cup Bearers. Keep your senses and minds open, and above all, stay safe.
